torchlight infinite launch

XD Games announced that Torchlight: Infinite, its upcoming “loot-focused,” dungeon-crawling ARPG, is launching worldwide and will be free-to-play on PC and mobile devices come May 9 (8 PM EST).

With the official release, a new season called "Cube of Rapacity'' will also go live. It offers never-before-seen content, features, and revamps of the game’s crafting and looting systems. The developer said now is the best time to try Torchlight: Infinite, but that former players will also enjoy all the changes made. Also, it is worth mentioning that progress between PC and mobile is synchronized.

As for the fresh content, the game introduces a unique hero: Escapist Bing. This unpredictable hero uses bombs to blind his foes. Additionally, Thea has a new Hero Trait called Divine Realm that offers new ways to play as the game's Oracle. There’s also a fresh gameplay mechanic where players can loot mysterious cubes from creatures known as Desire Incarnations, with a chance to get Divinity Slates. These rare artifacts slot together like puzzle pieces, and players can complete patterns to earn rewards in the new season.

Last but not least, the new aforementioned features in Torchlight: Infinite include a crafting overhaul, guilds, and an easier way to build heroes. There is also a higher damage limit and improved Pactspirit configurations. Other additions include Void Rifts, unique Trade House functionality, and the ability to view performance stats and share battle reports with other players. The game has also been optimized for Steam Deck.
