Treyarch Updates Anti-Cheat System In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 And Warzone
The changes have resulted in the ban of more than 136K Ranked Play accounts.
Fighting cheaters is a never-ending cycle in competitive video games – as we all know. First-person shooters, in particular, are constantly fighting players using aim bots and other hacks to come out on top in ranked matches. That means that developers like Treyarch are constantly dealing with cheating issues.
Last week, the developer shared what they’re doing to deal with cheaters in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and its related battle royale Warzone on the Call of Duty blog. The post addresses everything the developer is doing ahead of the January 28 update – not just in dealing with cheating, but also areas such as allowing players to disable cross-play on consoles in Ranked Play and addressing server issues.
Of course, the headline of the post is the second item on updates to RICOCHET Anti-Cheat with new layers of security. The system now has updated detection models to catch activities like aim botting. It also features new detection for spam reporting and repeat playing with cheaters. Since the changes have taken place, more than 136,000 cheaters have been banned. That’s not an insignificant number.
