Turtle Rock Studios Is Done Developing New Content For Back 4 Blood And Ready To Focus On Its Next Project
All things must come to an end. Particularly when you don’t have the resources to maintain it.
Okay, Turtle Rock fans… We have some good news and some bad news. To soften the blow, we’ll give you the good news first. The developer is about to start working on a new game. No. We don’t know what it is. We don’t know when they’ll tell us either. But we know it’s happening because they told us in an announcement on the developer site.
That leads us to the bad news: Turtle Rock isn’t a huge developer, they have to make some serious choices about what projects will be getting their time. As the new project is going to take priority, they’ve had to set continued development of Back 4 Blood aside. As they note, they “don’t have quite enough folks to continue to work on Back 4 Blood” and get this new game rolling at the same time.
That’s not to say that the game is going away entirely. As of this posting, they intend to keep the game operational, offering it on PlayStation Plus Extra and Xbox Game Pass. Just don’t expect any new content.
