Albion Online Radiant Wilds Update

Players who log into Albion Online today are in for a… prettier?… experience? Today, Sandbox Interactive dropped the free-to-play MMORPG’s “Radiant Wilds” update, giving players a new way to look at the game’s world. The update includes a “major visual overhaul”, improving lighting, textures, and “biome-specific details”. Players can also expect performance improvements that don’t increase the game’s specs.

If you’re worried the overhaul will change the feel of the game, that’s definitely not what Sandbox is going for. As noted, the overhaul includes improvements to lighting. It also makes changes to water graphics. Technical work as has also been done to improve the game’s performance, particularly in large-scale combat.

In addition to those improvements, today’s update introduces The Armory feature. This feature will suggest character builds to characters depending on the mode they’re playing. Speaking of modes, The Arena now has a 1v1 mode for those looking to get in some practice.

On the event front, on April 17, a creator event titled The Crucible II will kick off. The event pits content creators against each other as they try to lead a guild to victory. Guilds earn points by taking part in in-game activities, and prizes will be awarded. Details about the event can be found on the game’s site.

In additional news, the game will launch on Xbox Series X|S on April 21. This will be the game’s first console launch.
