Vaultbreakers Gets A Financial Boost From Square Enix
BetaDwarf announced the new investment today.
When you’re working on a large project like a multiplayer game, it has to be really reaffirming when a company like Square Enix decides to back you. At least, that seems to be the case with BetaDwarf and their action RPG Vaultbreakers. The developer announced today that Square Enix is investing in the game.
The funding from the Final Fantasy developer and publisher will be used to improve production and aid in the development process. As noted by BetaDwarf’s CEO, the team is a good way into development of the game, having run more than 15 play tests with over 50,000 people. Square’s money will help to push the game over the finish line. We’re not sure what impact, if any, this will have on the game’s monetization plans. Currently, we’ve been running with the assumption that it will be free to play based on BetaDwarf’s previous offerings.
In addition to this announcement, BetaDwarf has also released a new trailer for the game. It’s the first full gameplay trailer and launches alongside a public playtest. The playtest is already underway, having kicked off on July 3. It will run for a few more days. Those interested can pick up a key via the game’s official site.
