World of Warships Adds Team Battles
Tired of raging at your random teammates in World of Warships? Want a more consistent group of people to rage at? Wargaming's got you covered, with the introduction of team battles!
Considered to be a more skill-based play mode than ranked, team battles let you form or join a set team of players to participate in 7v7 battles during fixed times, so teams don't wind up playing the same opponents all the time. You can either be part of a set team or join a random team as a mercenary and hope they like you enough to keep you around. You'll need to be level 12 on your service account and have a high-tier ship to participate, and team ranking will use the Elo system, which can fluctuate up or down depending on your team's wins and losses.
Team battles will go live with the upcoming 0.5.3 patch for World of Warships. Having fixed teams and a rating system seem like an obvious first step toward promoting the game as an e-sport, as Wargaming has already done with World of Tanks. So, who wants to join my fleet? :)
