Throne And Liberty Housing 1

As August draws to a close, Throne and Liberty’s September update is almost upon us. That means some big additions to the game, like the new housing system, PvP updates, and more revealed about a month ago. Of course, we’ve all had a chance to hear about the new content via dev videos and posts, but there are always questions.

Luckily, Amazon Games offered us the chance to ask some of these questions via an interview with Globalization Design Manager Tico. We got a little more insight into what’s coming to the F2P MMORPG. And, honestly, the housing system sounds pretty exciting. It’ll be interesting to see how players react to the content when it arrives.

MMOBomb: It seems there are quite a few things for players to look forward to in the future, but it seems that the thing they’ll be most excited about is the housing system. The system was described in the Summer in Solisium video as being “robust, really personal, and really customizable”. Are there any currently existing housing systems in other games it can be compared to? Or is it something completely different?

Tico: We're really thrilled about bringing this lifestyle content to Throne and Liberty! Our housing system lets players create truly personal spaces within Solisium's existing towns –Kastleton and Vienta Village. What makes it special is that you can actually purchase multiple houses in different locations to experience various environments.

Love the energy of markets, plazas, and ocean views? Kastleton's perfect for that vibe. Prefer dramatic cliff-side terrain? Vienta Village delivers that atmosphere beautifully. Players can fully customize everything – furniture, wallpaper, flooring, decorations, you name it. And honestly, we're just getting started. Throughout 2025, we're planning to add even more customization options and features to keep expanding what's possible.

MMOB: Will the housing be single instances? Or will you be using the neighborhood system? It looks like the latter. If so, will players have yards to work with? How does the system manage players obtaining more than one house?

Tico: Housing uses instanced areas, but the social aspect is huge for us – players can definitely visit each other's houses and create those great shared experiences we love seeing in games. Houses come in different sizes with varying amounts of space to work with, including balconies, though we're not doing yards at this time. The multi-house system lets you really explore different aesthetics and locations based on what mood you're going for.

MMOB: How many item slots are available for players to place items?

Tico: The number of items you can place depends on your house size, but we're talking hundreds of pieces per house. We wanted to make sure players have the freedom to really go wild with their creativity and not feel constrained.

MMOB: What kinds of features will the housing system offer? Crafting, gardening, and other areas of management?

Tico: We're completely revamping our gathering professions with proper leveling and progression tracks. Once you gather materials, you'll use new processing systems to convert basic materials into crafting components. That's where our new Handicrafting profession comes in – you'll need to level it up to craft different furniture and decorations. The higher your skill, the more rare and impressive pieces you can create for your house. It's this whole interconnected system that gives meaning to every aspect of the lifestyle content.

Throne And Liberty Housing 3

MMOB: It was stated in the video that housing will be obtained via a narrative arc. Based on the description, this seems like more than just doing the main storyline and picking up a simple side quest that unlocks housing after the player runs “over there” and talks to someone. Is this the case?

Tico: Exactly right – this isn't just a quick "go talk to this NPC" situation. Players will go through an engaging story that lets them experience the different housing options before selecting their starter home. We really wanted getting your first house to feel meaningful and connected to our world, because that's how important we think it should be. It's about making that moment special, not just checking a box.

MMOB: Speaking of the lifestyle tracks. What kind, and about how many housing items will players be able to craft? What other ways will players be able to obtain housing items?

Tico: Players will have access to hundreds of furniture pieces, decorations, wallpapers, and flooring options to choose from, and we'll keep adding more regularly! We're also excited about trophies that players can earn by accomplishing various things throughout their Throne and Liberty adventures and then display in their houses. We're expecting the first trophies to arrive around Halloween, which should be really fun.

Throne And Liberty Orb

MMOB: Moving on to PvP, players will be getting the battle grounds they’ve asked for. It sounds like it will have a pretty solid start with a 24x24 mode, and there are plans to expand. What else are you looking to add in the future? Will there be a ranking system?

Tico: When Battlegrounds launches, it'll start as unranked only. Since it's a completely new feature for us, we want to make sure we can fine-tune any issues and really understand how players engage with it before introducing ranked play. We're tentatively planning to add ranked mode about a month after launch, once we've gathered that crucial player data.

MMOB: On the topic of the Orb, it’s clear that it’s designed for shield healing, but there was a mention of managing orbs in addition to the traditional mana management. What does this entail?

Tico: The Orb weapon is designed to create entirely new PvP metas through strategic, team-focused battlefield control. When you equip it, you're managing three spheres that you can place either on the ground or on other players. These spheres enable all sorts of tactical possibilities – movement impact, amplifying damage, or multiplying other ability effects. The real depth comes from learning optimal sphere placement, timing your abilities to utilize them effectively, and coordinating with your team. It's all about rewarding that strategic thinking and setup rather than just reactive play.

MMOB: Can you tell us more about how Hyperboost will work across the two different server types?

Tico: Hyperboost is our comprehensive catch-up system for new and returning players. We're implementing these features on existing servers, plus launching brand new servers with the update. The new servers are completely isolated from existing ones, so you'll need to create a fresh character to join them. We're using the Adventure Codex as the main progression tool for gear, which ensures new players still learn all the key Throne and Liberty systems while leveling.

Once you hit max level, there are growth missions specifically designed to teach you about the endgame content and progression paths you should focus on while providing boosts for other progression verticals like runes and mastery.

MMOB: What other things should players know about the upcoming content?

Tico: This update is genuinely massive – there's so much new content coming that we're really excited about. We've strategically timed it with our Hyperboost features because we want players to be able to bring their friends into Solisium with them easily. We can't wait to see how the community engages with everything we're bringing to the game!
