Meet Deadlock's Six New Characters
Mina, Billy the Goat, Paige, The Doorman, Victor, and Drifter...
Deadlock has expanded its roster with six new characters, each featuring a different playstyle. Valve’s free-to-play third-person shooter/MOBA is still in limited access, but these additions are now available to try. In case you are not familiar, Deadlock blends the fast-paced gunplay of tactical shooters with the layered strategy of MOBAs. The game features 6v6 matches where players command heroes with unique abilities while NPC units march down three lanes, creating natural battle points that demand both direct combat and smart map control.
On top of that, Deadlock keeps matches dynamic with ziplines, double jumps, and other mobility tools, making every push and skirmish fluid and unpredictable. The constant tug-of-war between lane pressure and team fights keeps players on their toes, ensuring no two games play out the same. With these new characters now in the mix, the variety of tactics and playstyles grows. Here is a rundown of what each hero offers.
Mina is not just a goth chick. She is also a vampire. Mina is all about burst damage at the cost of survivability. Her passive, Love Bites, drains health from enemies and keeps stacking with every hit, letting her grow stronger if she is left unchecked. That stacking effect means Mina snowballs hard, but it also puts pressure on her to stay active in fights. Her ultimate, Nox Nostra, summons a swarm of bats that chase down enemies and apply silence, shutting down abilities. She is fragile, so positioning and timing are everything, but Mina can quickly delete targets if played correctly.
Billy channels punk rock by being a heavy disruptor who should not be messed with in close range. His kit revolves around crowd control and keeping the enemy team off balance. Bashdown knocks enemies into the air, Rising Ram launches Billy and anyone nearby skyward, and Blasted gives him a speed boost while restoring ammo every time he lands a melee hit. He is tough to ignore due to constantly throwing enemies around while keeping himself mobile. Billy rewards aggressive players who want to be in the middle of every fight.
Paige is a support with a summoning kit that brings plenty of utility in the form of books. Using her enchanted tomes, she can call in allies to fight alongside teammates. Paige can shape the battlefield and create problems enemies cannot easily ignore. She shines when paired with teammates who can capitalize on the space and pressure Paige generates, making her ideal for players who like controlling fights from the backline with smart positioning.
The Doorman leans into mobility and trickery. His signature ability, Doorway, lets him place portals that teammates and projectiles can pass through. They are good for sudden escapes, as well as unexpected attacks. Additionally, Call Bell damages enemies and reduces their accuracy, while Luggage Cart charges forward, grabbing enemies and dragging them. His ultimate, Hotel Guest, sends opponents into a haunted hotel dimension where they are forced to platform their way out while taking damage. Players who want to be annoying will love The Doorman.
Victor is a bruiser. His abilities revolve around self-damage, retaliation, and regeneration. Aura of Suffering damages enemies around him but also chips away at his own health, while Jumpstart trades health for a burst of speed and regeneration. Pain Battery punishes players who attack him, releasing damage when he is hit. His ultimate, Shocking Reanimation, revives him after death, giving him another chance. Victor is difficult to kill, and he scales harder the longer Victor sticks around.
Drifter is a tracker who gets stronger the more time he spends hunting. His Bloodscent ability highlights enemies by leaving behind blood trails and audible heartbeats. Every kill or assist permanently buffs his weapon damage, stacking throughout the match and making him more dangerous as the game goes on. This scaling means he is a nightmare in the late game if Drifter gets fed. He fits players who like to roam around, picking off targets who drift too far away from their teammates.
