“Age of Wushu 2.0” is how Game Director Hao Han describes the game’s upcoming free expansion, Tempest of Strife. With new features like weather and dynamic events and school betrayals, and six new classes, including the “sinister evil” Rootless Clan, there should be plenty to keep fans of the martial-arts sandbox MMO happy.

Tempest of Strife also revamps the game’s graphics and mechanics and lets players change their appearance via facelift surgery — perfect for creating a new identity after committing your latest dastardly crime.

The expansion comes to Age of Wushu on May 7.

  1. This is a good game… but with alot of hackers!
the guys spam bots and the game dont do anything…. the server only want your money.. and dont care about hackers..

  2. Yes, the publisher is not excellent but Snail USA is no worse than Nexon, Gpotato or PWI and the game is no worse than other free MMO from Korea/China. What it does is something very different than the traditional MMO.

People always say the game is below average but they forget to mention it has some very interesting points like the ability to learn other school(class, if you wish) skills, the break form the holy trinity of healer, dps, control or the open world PVP. The ability to teleport to every part of the game world from the start without fear of being slaughtered by mobs, Large (300+) PVP battles on week-ends, tournaments every weekdays, player driven economy, etc.

If your sick of the traditional reskinned “Pick From 6 classes and 5 races to adventure in a world with cliche fantasy lore” MMO then i suggest you give this a try. The new expansion will change the power distribution of the high level players, forcing them to level sideway (roughly same power but more options) or even down to access new content, making it a perfect time for new player to start.

  3. Played this game, but yea im never going back. i had like 400liang at one point(if i remember right) apparently at the time that was a lot to me. I logged back in & i had no money left.

The hackers or bots just get away & they have bad customer service.

  4. I honestly liked the game. It was something different and actually really fun.
Now the company… thats a different story.

  5. I really don’t give a damn how many updates this game’s getting i’m not a big fan of martial arts mmos with light clothes and dresses, it’s the same thing, farming farming farming everywhere. GL crap game.

    • Well, you are entitled to not like a genre….but you backfired in the end. ALL MMOs are about farming.

So yeah, if you don’t like farming/grinding, just stick to single player games.

  6. It is not the publisher, or updates, the game is crap from the start. Always has been always will be. Jet Li is a douche for promoting this piece of garbage excuse for any type of game.

    • it isn’t a bad mmo. i like it. it is unique in its own way. i’m not saying it’s the best mmo. but it is a pretty fun mmo to play. even more so with friends

      • you right dude the game is great maybe its not to be a hardcore camera (camera with a cross hair) but any way nice game add me my name is Polintalu

    • Have to agree with you. I took a break from the game but decided to give another poke when it got into Steam.

To my dismay, found out that my account had been banned! Sent an email to support asking what it was about and I got a reply that I had done illegal tael (currency bought with cash for those who don’t play) trading.
Considering I never did put cash into the game (although they try hard to make you want to with the slow conversions and the edge people get with premium offline training) and only had a paltry few taels that I got from kidnapping (yes, you can kidnap offline players, it is fun!) and doing blacksmith jobs/selling mats to stalls…only possibility I could see was that someone cash scammer had a stall or asked me to improve their weapon, since kidnapping is the only place you can (at least at the time, not sure now) get taels from the system itself, part cashing in.

All in all, I’ll wait for some other martial arts MMO to come forth (Swordsman maybe?) to scratch that itch when it comes, if it comes again.

      • its been awhile since i played but just wanted to say i used to make a few hundred taels in a hour from destroying peoples carts i think it was escorting a cart to help your guild and yourself make money but if u kill that player and destroy it u got something u could exchange to an npc for an item for xp or w/e sold for quite abit

        • Nope, escort would get you contribution and money (both to the clan for expanding and some change for yourself to use on the NPCs, which is another currency).

Taels you’d need to buy from Snails cash shop, use sleeping poisons to kidnap offline players or trade with a player who had bought it from the cash shop. Worst part is, if a F2P player wanted to sell something to another F2P player…they can’t unless they have fumbled around with kidnapping or trading with a cash player.
