Fantasy MMORPG Aion: Classic is getting its next major content patch, Stormwing's Defiance, and will bring back nostalgic battles and raise the level cap to 55. And to commemorate the update, players can receive a free Stormwing pet through a code redemption process today.

The 2.0 Stormwing's Defiance update is out now for fans to jump into and begin paving their way to level 55. Nostalgic zones to farm and battle inside are available and the update adds four fortress sieges, seven instance dungeons - including a PvP battlefield dungeon - and powerful abyss items.

The new Balaurea zone is only for players over level 50 and presents "challenges and new dangers for players" to meet. Also, it contains the four new fortress sieges players can battle over. But before attempting to duke it out with other players, you can now optimize your character to add more "diversity to PvP battles" with the new skill tree to cover your weaknesses.

And the same goes for how you approach the new seven instances, especially the Beshmundir Temple where the dragon Stormwing makes his lair. Defeating him will reward players with Aion: Classic's first-ever Heroic-grade armor.

If you're interested in getting the Stormwing Pet, you can register the code on Aion: Classic's 2.0 Preview blog. Using it before it expires on June 22 will give you a 30-day Stormwing Pet, which will "automatically collect loot and use consumables for you."
