Alpha Testing For Moddable MMO Seconds From Silence Begins Next Week
On Friday, July 19 at 9:00 am Pacific time, MMO fans will have their first chance to check out Seconds from Silence -- a "moddable MMORPG inspired by the Elder Scrolls and Witcher series". Developed by Abstract Era Entertainment using Unreal Engine 4, the medieval fantasy game is ready for its first alpha test.
In Seconds from Silence, players are encouraged to build their own lives, starting with character creation and extending to creating various structures ranging from a simple home to kingdoms. They can choose to run guilds, be bandits, or take to the seas.
Currently, reports are that the game will have both a free-to-play and a premium option.
During the game's testing phase, Abstract Era plan to focus on what they call "The Four Pillars". These are character creation, combat, building, and ruling. Interestingly, the dev team has created a separate client for testing each of these. This means that players must indicate which pillar (or pillars) they'd like to test. It is possible to be selected to test more than one pillar at a time, but keep in mind that means downloading more than one client.
Those interested in participating in the alpha test will need to sign up via the Seconds from Silence website. You will need to create an account on the site to sign up.
