Upcoming Apex Legends Future Icons Event Introduces New 1v1 Game Mode
In Arena: Duels, the matchups are randomized and you can't use abilities or heal.
The upcoming Future Icons event for Apex Legends brings new content and gameplay changes to the battle royale game.
It introduces Arenas: Duels, a fast-paced 1v1 mode where players compete without abilities or healing. Players can unlock new cosmetic content through Future Icons Event Packs, including Legendary skins and Wattson’s “Apex Icon” Prestige Skin. Wattson and Vantage are also temporarily unlocked for all players to try out, with both receiving buffs to boost their utility and appeal.
Arenas: Duels features randomized matchups with mirrored loadouts and Legends. Matches last five minutes, and performance is tracked on a live leaderboard. While abilities are disabled for now, they’ll be reintroduced later in the event.
The event, which is happening from June 24 to July 15, also includes a reward track where players can earn up to 1,400 points per day by completing challenges. These points unlock exclusive Future Icons cosmetics and progress toward earning all four event badges. New Legendary skins for Rampart, Octane, and the Peacekeeper are available, and event packs ensure players won’t receive duplicate event items.
