Apex Legends Mobile Has A Profitable Launch With $5 Million Made In The First Week
Apex Legends Mobile is free-to-play and available now for download on iOS and Android.
I don’t think anyone was worried about how Apex Legends Mobile was going to perform after launch, and with good reason, as just seven days after its launch, SensorTower reported that the game has already brought in $4.8 million from in-game purchases by players.
Apex Legends Mobile was the most-downloaded game in the iOS app store in 60 countries last week. 44% of Apex Mobile purchases were made by players in the US who spent a total of $2.1 million total in the first week of the game's launch. Apex Legends Mobile has been in the works for sometime and a lot of effort went into the game to make sure it performed well right out the gate with efficient mobile controls. Over 15 million players pre-registered for the game and more and more are joining with every passing day.
Still, with a new mobile version of Call of Duty in the works, and with Call of Duty Mobile already bringing in $1.5 billion since its launch, Apex Legends may have a bit of competition. Anything can happen though, especially considering that Apex Legends Mobile was made by the same studio who made PUBG Mobile, another popular Battle Royale styled game. While the game’s earnings were nothing compared to Apex’s in their first week, as of now, PUBG has made over $8 billion since its launch, so it is likely that Apex Legends Mobile will also have a very profitable future.
