Blizzard Plans To Announce The Next World Of Warcraft Expansion On April 19
There's also a mobile Warcraft announcement coming in May.
Ah, here’s some good news out of the Activision Blizzard camp. A new World of Warcraft expansion is in the works and the company will be announcing it soon. That’s not "within the month of March" soon, mind you. Rather, they’ll be making the announcement on April 19. (So, here’s our announcement of Blizzard's announcement of an announcement.)
Speaking of announcing announcements, Blizzard has another Warcraft-related announcement in the works. Note I did not say World of Warcraft. No, this is something in the Warcraft universe, and whatever it is will be mobile. Unfortunately, they're unwilling to elaborate beyond that point, so we don’t know if it’s an RTS, an RPG, a mobile MMO, or what. We do know the announcement for it will take place sometime in May. (Sorry. No exact date on that one.)
And, if any of you were wondering about Hearthstone…yeah. There are some announcements happening there as well.
Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
