Bloodhunt’s Back-End Matchmaker Is Getting Some Dynamic Love
This will only affect the modes with bots.
Sharkmob is dropping a new update in its Vampire: The Masquerade battle royale Bloodhunt tomorrow morning. This update will make some changes to the game's back-end matchmaker, adjusting bot-filled modes specifically. The idea is to make matchmaking less restricted and more dynamic. That way, if there aren’t quite enough players, it won’t take too long for a match to fill.
As noted, this impacts bot modes only, so this is the way it will work: New players will always be matched with each other, with bots only supplementing matches. Low-to-mid tier will “likely” match with each other and hi-mid-to-high tier players will “likely” match with each other. If there’s a smaller selection of players, then low-to-high players have a chance of ending up matched. Of course, bots will fill the rest of the spots.
Tomorrow at 10:00 CET / 1AM PT we will deploy a new update to our back-end matchmaker with the goal to get better matches across all skill levels. This will affect our bot-filled modes only. The new matchmaker adjusts dynamically. When there are fewer players, [ 🧵 1/3 ]

● High-mid-to-high tier players will be likely to match with each other, with bots filling up the remaining slots.

The news was announced via Twitter, which also allowed Sharkmob to answer a player’s question. For those wondering, this will not impact regional matchmaking. As noted in the response, the game is currently set to expand regions in low-pop areas to get more players together. That said, NA and EU players can generally expect only to be matched in their region.
Hello Hammer Sludge! There are no new changes to the regional matchmaker. Currently, the settings for regions is to region expand in low-pop regions when there are few players. The regions that currently are very unlikely to expand (at all) are NA and EU.
