Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2’s Early Access Time Confirmed; Special Ops Mode To Offer Three-Player Raids In December
Preloads start today!
Activision and Infinity Ward announced the details of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 campaign preload for Early Access players. While the game won’t officially launch until October 28, players can jump into the campaign as early as this week.
Preloads for campaign early access begin at 10AM PDT on October 19 (That's today). This time will be the same globally and will be the same for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Battle.net. Once downloaded, the Early Access will begin at 10AM PDT on October 20.
MW2’s very first episode of Raids will debut with the Season 1 Reloaded patch on December 14 and will include a legendary multiplayer map along with the first major Warzone 2.0 Update. These raids are “a whole new experience for the franchise–a three-player cooperative engagement requiring teamwork and strategic, puzzle-solving thinking in between bouts of intense combat,” said Activision.
These Raids will be a part of MW2’s co-op Special Ops mode and will include three missions when the game is released in October. Players will be able to play a stealth-focused mission called Bad Situation, Vehicle Escape will have players destroying a series of SAM turrets preventing reinforcements from entering the battlefield, and Observatory Defense has players defending a location from difficult waves of enemies attempting to detonate bombs.
Players who want more information can read the full report on Call of Duty’s website.
Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
