Overwatch 2 Prepares Players For Season 18’s Launch With Information About The New Hero, Wuyang
What happens when you’re the first in your family not to make the cut?
Blizzard is getting ready to roll out Overwatch 2’s 18th season in just a couple of weeks. As we draw closer to its launch on August 26, the team is teasing some of the new content players can expect in the team shooter, including a new Hero by the name of Wuyang. In fact, tomorrow the team will be dropping the character’s gameplay trailer.
That’s not to say that we don’t know anything about him yet. The team has already shared a bit of Wuyang’s back story via a “storytime” comic video voiced by the character’s voice actor, Howard Wang.
In addition, Senior Narrative Designer Joshi Zhang shared some thoughts about the work that went into Wuyang and his personal relationship with the character. It seems this Hero is one that he relates to on multiple levels.
Wuyang represents the hardest parts of my existence. At 17, 15, 13, feeling unseen in my struggle, I wanted to call it quits. I hope Wuyang's journey, and mine, helps you feel less alone. May he mean to you even a fraction of what he means to me. Stay hopeful, keep fighting 🌊 https://t.co/dSzl76m2US pic.twitter.com/JEVoI9yL4N
