DayZ Update 1-18

A new update dropped for DayZ today adding new weapons and a new dynamic event – train wrecks. The event results in unique encounters on railroads around the map. These events come in tiers, ranging from civilian to military trains, and players will definitely want to do them because that’s where some of the best loot will come from.

A major focus of this event is explosives. This would explain why a new Grenade Launcher M79, which is compatible with 3 types of 40mm ammunition, has been added. That includes smoke grenades, explosive grenades, and a rare P-OX grenade containing deadly gas.

Continuing with the big boom theme, Update 1.18 also adds a new plastic explosive with a timer as well as craftable explosives. Lucky players can even get their hands on a detonator to trigger them remotely. For the purposes of running away and causing damage at the same time, the Claymore Mine has been added as well.
