Dota 2 Spring Forward Update

Valve’s long-running MOBA, Dota 2, has a shiny new update, and despite what the update number might indicate in other games, it’s pretty big. Update 7.39, or “Spring Forward” (which looks to be a bit of a pun, what with both actual springs and flower petals in the images), introduces new quality of life changes, items, and more to the game. And, of course, there’s a big patchlist to go with it. (Seriously, it’s one of those update notices where you just keep scrolling.)

Among some of the quality of life additions highlighted in the patch notes are things like the ability to track your teammates’ items, customizable courier settings to allow for auto deliveries, and the ability to tell the game ahead of time what items to buy when enough gold has been accumulated. The update also introduces improved ways for players to communicate, such a new pings, additional status levels, and more.

Of course, the update adds all kinds of new items for players to collect as well. The Spring 2025 Treasure “Heroes’ Hoard” includes 16 new hero sets with immortal items, personas, taunts, and other goodies.

As ever, the patch notes are available on the Dota 2 site. Just plan on setting aside some time for this read.
