Dragomon Hunter Dev Diary Talks Mounts and Combat
More details are coming out of the Aeria Games camp on the upcoming release of their hunt inspired free to play MMORPG, Dragomon Hunter. The above video dives into combat, weapon selection, skill progression, and more and provides us with our first real look at what players can expect when they take on the hunt later this year.
In the "Gotta Catch'em All" spirit, Dragomon Hunter doesn't just allow you to go and kill your prey. While impressive in its own right, taming these beasts is even more of a challenge. Any monster you see has the opportunity to be tamed and once tamed, players will be able to ride these beasts as mounts. That's a pretty slick way of advertising just how bad ass a hunter you are to others.
I wish the video would have been a bit more in depth with the combat system as, to me, this type of game should rely heavily on skill to separate the hunters from the wannabes. While it does look like telegraphs are a part of combat, I'd like to see some more about the player's side of things...guess we'll just have to wait for a future video on the topic.
