Final Fantasy Battle Royale Gets Fifth Class, Ninja
High-mobility class has double jump, shuriken, teleportation, and invisibility.
If you're looking forward The First SOLDIER, the Final Fantasy-themed battle royale for mobile -- which surely is going to come out on PC and consoles someday, right? -- then you'll have another class to try out when the game launches later this year. Square Enix revealed the Ninja in today's new trailer, bringing the total number of classes to five, along with the Warrior, Sorcerer, Monk, and Ranger.
The Ninja "places heavy emphasis on mobility," as you might expect. Its tools include a double jump and shuriken, as well as the ability turn invisible for a short time. Ninjas can also toss their dagger and teleport to where it lands, perfect for escaping trouble or setting up a blind ambush.
And yeah, the trailer video has a fair share of downvotes, and we've all talked about how weird it is to have a Final Fantasy battle royale. But we also said the same thing about a battle royale based on Vampire: The Masquerade, and that's actually pretty fun, not to mention doing all right, numbers-wise. It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but that's OK.
The First SOLDIER is scheduled for launch on iOS and Android devices sometime in 2021. You can learn more about the game on its website.
