Genshin Impact Returns To Sumeru In The Luna VII Update
We’re finally getting content that was teased years ago.

Okay guys. I have good news or bad news, depending on who you are. It looks like we’re not done with Dottore yet. The man just keeps coming back. It’s probably no surprise that he’s returning to Sumeru, considering everything we’ve learned about him over the years. At least, we think it’s him. It looks like him. Either way, he’ll appear in Genshin Impact’s next update, Version Luna VII: “Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana”, launching on May 20. (That name is a throwback.) Apparently, he’s going to be as much of a pain as the Dottore we all know, if not more so.
With all the trouble in Sumeru, players of the free-to-play open-world RPG will find all their old friends from that region coming together to deal with it. That includes the Academia and desert dwellers, as well as a particular cat.
With everything that’s happened between the time we spent in Sumeru and now, the devs have decided that players might need a refresher, so they’ve introduced in-game notes that can be accessed, even during dialog, for reference purposes. And for everyone who’s ever complained about the length of the game’s story and figuring out where to step away, another new feature may actually help with that. With the launch of Luna VII, the game will tell players when it’s auto-saved. So, you know, you don’t have to worry about stopping for the night and having to repeat content the next time you start the game up.
Luna VII will introduce three new playable characters. We’ve officially met two of them. And one has been seen lurking around Mondstadt – as well as leaving angry notes about Alice. The first, Nicole, is a 5-Star Pyro Catalyst wielder who provides support to the team, boosting their attack and shielding them as well. Being a former angel, Nicole has one other useful ability. She can summon Seelie and have them lead players to any treasure chests they’ve missed – provided they have the treasure compass needed for it.
With the release of Nicole, players will finally be able to enter her lodge in Nod-Krai and hunt for treasure.
Next up is Prune, a “Witch Hunter” from Mondstadt. She’s a 4-star catalyst-wielding Anemo character. She also provides support to the team in the form of a bell that follows the active character around, inflicting AoE damage on the enemies.
Both Nicole and Prune will be available in the first Event Wish Banner, along with a rerun of Durin.
The second Event Wish Banner will feature Mondstadt’s favorite battle gobline, Lohen. Despite being the Vice Captain of the Knights of Favonius Ranged Company, he’s a close combat kind of guy and uses a spear instead of something more appropriate for his position, like, say, a bow. Lohen’s particular type of crazy will come in handy in combat, as his competitiveness isn’t just against his opponents. If members of his team do more damage than he does, his competitive spirit kicks in and he accumulates “Will to Win,” which increases the damage done using his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst. The more “Will to Win” accumulated, the more damage he does.
Lohen will be accompanied in the second Event Wish Banner by a rerun of Mavuika
Version Lua VII also kicks off a new Klee-focused event, where Klee and a bunch of her friends formed a “Little Hexenzirkel”. I guess you’re never too young to start your own powerful witch organization. The event features different activities set up by the Little Witches.
Of course, there are redemption codes: BacktoSumeru, NicolaCoco, and WilltoWin. These codes are valid until May 11. So use them soon. More details on the update can be found in the stream below.
