Final Fantasy XIV’s 6.2 Preliminary Patch Notes Are Out And The Rising Is Set To Return
Everything you need to know about Buried Memory is now available.
With four days left before Final Fantasy XIV’s Patch 6.2 update, the preliminary patch notes are now live on the Lodestone. There’s a good bit to cover, although a lot of it is things like system adjustments, some quest removals, and the like.
The game’s main scenario quest continues with preparations to search for the Satrap’s long-lost sister Azdaja in the Void. To pick up the new quest, players will need to be level 90 and have completed the quest “A Satrap’s Duty”. There are nine new quests in the storyline. Of course, we only have the title for the first one. Everything else is a surprise.
Speaking of continuing stories and finding out what comes next, the next batch of raid content is upon us. The Pandaemonium raid series continues with the quest “An Unwelcome Visitor”. To continue this story line and take on the new raids, players need to have completed the Chronicles of a New Era quest, “Who Wards the Warders?”
Tataru’s Grand Endeavor is back as well. To take part in this side quest, players won’t only need to have completed the quest “Small Business, Big Dreams”. They’ll also need to have done the sky pirate quest line and completed “A Redbill Farewell”, so if you haven’t done that one, it’s time to go back and knock it out.
A Tales of Newfound Adventure quest is coming, too, but they’re not divulging much about it. All we know is that it will be available after completing the 6.2 MSQ.
As for the rest of the patch, it will introduce several changes such as the revamped version of “The Steps of Faith”, the renaming of Beast Tribe quests to Tribal Quests, changes to the Return to Ivalice quests, and more. There are also new housing items based on the 2019 furnishing design contest and – if you’re one of those people who incorrectly received a refund for a house you won, the team has made returning the money easy – should you want to.
On the Island Sanctuary end of things, details on where to pick up the starting quest and how to get going are available in the patch notes as well. Sadly, the flying squirrel minion is not one of the Sanctuary rewards. It comes from Faux Hollows.
On an additional note, Final Fantasy XIV will be celebrating another anniversary with The Rising event. The starting quest can be found in Ul’dah. Just look for the Wandering Minstrel. Completing the event will earn you a very annoyed-looking Emet-Selch wind-up minion.
