Warhammer is going cRPG.

Owlcat Games has revealed features for the upcoming turn-based cRPG Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader during Gamescom 2023. The game, set in the universe of Warhammer 40,000, will introduce cooperative multiplayer gameplay. Players will become privateer voidship captains known as Rogue Traders, serving the Emperor and the Imperium while exploring the unknown reaches of space. There’s nine companions who will join players in this dark fantasy narrative, including a Space Marine, Aeldari, Tech-Priest, and Psykers.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader offers an isometric turn-based RPG experience, emphasizing the importance of alliances. The Rogue Trader's autonomy is backed by privileges beyond ordinary citizens, enabling them to forge unlikely alliances with formidable characters. These companions, such as the enigmatic Tech-Priest and dauntless Ordo Xenos Interrogator, each possess unique traits and abilities. And the game's cooperative mode will allow players to team up with friends.

Set in the Koronus Expanse, an uncharted and perilous region on the fringes of the Imperium, the game's choices have significant consequences, affecting not only the Rogue Trader's companions but also the broader in-game world. Cooperative multiplayer will be available upon the game's release for PC, with plans to introduce it to Mac and consoles post-launch. Players who pre-order will gain access to the beta version.
