Dragon’s Prophet has returned from GDC with some fresh screenshots and a new trailer that features a whole lot of action along with an equal amount of dragons doing various dragony things. It’s a good opportunity for us to catch a glimpse of the various styles of dragons and get a sense of just how large some of the zones within the world of Auratia really are.

Sony has also revealed plans to open the closed beta to a limited group this upcoming weekend along with unveiling the inevitable details surrounding early VIP beta access that comes with many pre-launch item packs. In this case the packs are “Dragon Packs” and feature many dragon related things including a Dragon Seeker title, beta access, exclusive dragons, “tons” of items and a housing starter kit. The packs start at $19.99 and go all the way up to $89.99.

As of now the beta is currently under NDA, but Sony has promised to livestream the game for the first time this Friday (3/29) starting at 3 p.m. PDT. You can watch the stream by visiting their official Twitch page here.

Its P2W, the only way to have more than 2 dragons (each dragon you have give you skills) is paying, AND there is no way to get the 5 slots ingame. i am not saying that you cant play but the advantage to paying players is there and its not only convenience. SOE has made most of his games P2W silly me thinking this was going to be diferent =(.
The game is cool but P2W kills my mood to play
too bad another great game ruined by P2W

I swear to god if this is another RODE “dragon taming” system I’m gonna punch someone in the throat.

I will wait patiently until the release to find out…

Signed up for a key to this game but with it being runewaker if they have mage will stay clear of that class after what they did with the mages in runes of magic.

I didn’t quite manage to grasp the reason of why we should care about this ? Are dragons that big of a selling point ?

    • dagudman on March 28, 2013

Not the dragons by themselves, but the idea of a game that has a good pet system and dragons are bonus points for that.

Nice average game but i vote for Neverwintah

If you find Neverwinter’s non existing sandbox open world, lack luster linear quests, lack of any real DnD cept a butchered and watered down 4th edition rule, craptastic graphics typical of Cryptic games, craptastic crafting and gathering, then by all means you go for it. To each their own. The only thing Neverwinter has going for it is it’s name, strip the game of that title and well…it’s a watered down Joe Schmoe bland mmo with lack of anything awesome or entertaining that anyone hasn’t done or is doing, but better.

I for one don’t like SOE at all, as all their games are just sinkholes but Dragon’s Prophet isn’t going the P2W route and based on all the info on the game, I’m hoping it’ll be a big success. I won’t bash it till I’ve tried it either. Neverwinter? I’ve tried it, and yes it’s extremely “average…below”.

I agree with you 100%. The game is on par with titles from 7 years ago. The only real feature is the foundry.

      • LolReally on March 27, 2013

Yes not P2W but they have a 89 dollar founder pack that gives over 89 items, a dragon, armor, wep skins, and other shit.

        Yep.

        NOT

same shit with never winter you get diamonds that go for blue op armor or pets and shit. 2muchp2w these days.

        • Sharpeyes on March 28, 2013

Those Armor are probably just for starter once u hit end game that shit gone or something else is gonna be better than that.

        • WhyPayMore on April 5, 2013

I bet it’s all just cosmetic stuff. Like you get armor skin, without any stats. And I doubt the dragon we get is the most powerful. So stop your whining.

      • Pink Little Bunny on March 29, 2013

I’m still playing Neverwinter, its an awesome game, its my kind of game.

    • Cacalips on March 28, 2013

Neverwinter is garbage. The graphics mediocre. Instnace PvE content. etc. The CEO announced he is not aware of any other game that luanched with no pay model…(his publisher PWE has been launching no pay models since 1995). MEANING he plans to milk the cash shop. And who cares, it is just garbage cash shop aside. Nothing new.

When will mmo bomb get closed beta keys for this game?

    • duh on March 27, 2013

The game is in closed beta and they’ll be offering VIP Packs for those who want into the Beta.

Don’t count on Beta Keys until, hmm… tomorrow. They’ll have beta keys on MMOBOMB tomorrow obviously 😛

HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY?
