Gloria Victis is another step closer to returning. Today, Gamigo announced the launch of the free-to-play MMORPG’s first public playtest, open to those who registered for a chance to participate. The test kicked off today as part of Steam’s Medieval Fest and will remain active through April 27. Obviously, the developers are looking for feedback during the test period. So, be prepared to offer your insights.

This test will be the first time the game has been open to players since the original shuttered in 2023. Those who played before that dark period can expect the same mechanics they loved. That includes the facton PvP, player-driven economy, realistic combat, and more. It won’t be exactly the same, though. Players can expect graphics that have been improved “with an emphasis on realism”.

Keep in mind that this is a legitimate test period. So any progress made over the next week will be wiped. That said, participating in the test will net you some rewards when the game launches, including premium currency and character titles.

If you missed signing up for the test, you should still be able to get in. As noted on Steam, the test is Open Beta. The Steam page also has a “Join the Playtest” button. I’m not certain if this will get you in immediately or if you’ll need to wait for it to be processed. Just give it a try.
