Greg Street Announces Closure Of Fantastic Pixel Castle
Well, this just sucks.

Back in October, Greg Street announced that his studio, Fantastic Pixel Castle’s, partnership with NetEase was coming to an end. In the same post on LinkedIn, he revealed that the Ghost developer was looking for a new publisher for the MMORPG. Unfortunately, it seems like that search hasn’t gone as well as hoped, as another post on Street’s LinkedIn page announced the studio’s closing on November 17.
The post did mention that there may still be a chance to obtain funding after that date. But rather than concentrating specifically on that, the company is focusing on helping their staff find other employment – rightfully so. What that means is that if funding does come in after the 17th, there may not be much of the team left to work on the game.
That said, Street notes that dozens of people reached out to try to help the company and that there may be a chance one of those things works out for them. We’ll just have to see. But as things are currently up in the air, and we’re in the holiday season, taking this approach makes the most sense for those employed with the company.
