World Restructuring Becomes The Focus And Guild Wars 2 Breaks Down The Plan In Studio Update Post
Getting the WvW Restructuring permanently online is the first priority.
Earlier today, ArenaNet dropped the September Studio Update, discussing what’s been going on with Guild Wars 2’s development. The first part of the post covers the things that have been done recently as well as what will be happening in between game updates now that expansions are broken into four major releases throughout the year. This includes things like balance updates and events.
The bigger news in the post revolves around World vs. World Restructuring and Alliances. According to this section of the post, the developers have decided to reprioritize some things. That means that players are going to have to wait longer than expected for Alliance system beta testing. It will not be taking place this year.
Instead, ArenaNet has decided to focus on the MMORPG's World Restructuring, getting it off the ground first. This is because they need to get ongoing feedback from players on how it’s working for them as quickly as possible. It's also because a lot of the work that has been put in so far isn’t really benefiting players yet, due to the Alliance management UI being considered a necessity before the World Restructuring system could launch. Now that Alliance management isn’t viewed that way, it will allow players to experience what has been done without having to wait on one feature.
Currently, there’s no actual timeline for all of this, so players will need to keep an eye out for any announcements.
