New Guild Wars 2 Expansion "Visions Of Eternity" Announced
Set sail for the remote island of Castora.
ArenaNet announced the sixth expansion for Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity, which is set to launch on October 28.
Like previous expansions, this upcoming one for the free-to-play MMORPG will introduce a year of story chapters and three major content updates. The narrative begins with players investigating secretive Inquest expeditions to the mysterious and remote island of Castora. Two new open-world maps will be available at launch, with two more arriving over the next year. And unlike prior expansions, story content will be released in a revised chapter format.
Players can check get a sneak peek during a beta week from August 20 to 27; they’ll be able to test new elite specializations and provide feedback.
Visions of Eternity includes elite specializations for all nine professions, offering new trait lines and skill mechanics. The skimmer mount is getting updated movement capabilities tailored for the new environment too. Group content is expanding with two raid encounters, a new fractal with challenge mode, and a unified raid/strike structure planned for 2026. Players can also pursue six new legendary items over the course of the expansion and gain access to a new homestead map if they own both Visions of Eternity and Janthir Wilds, with decoration layout saving and swapping capabilities.
Additional rewards and features include seasonal loot via the Wizard’s Vault, new relics, armor, weapons, recipes, emotes, and fashion templates. Fashion templates will let players save visual setups for armor and dyes, and will be available to all players, even without expansion ownership.
