It's time to get your spooky on in Hearthstone's latest expansion, The Witchwood. It went live earlier today and adds 135 new cards to the game, as well as two new keywords: Echo and Rush. The Witchwood's release also marks the start of the new Standard Year for the game, the Year of the Raven, so Standard decks can only use cards from the base set, the Witchwood, and the three expansions released in 2017: Journey to Un'goro, Knights of the Frozen Throne, and Kobolds & Catacombs.

In the expansion's storyline, the town of Gilneas is threatened by a curse brought on by the witch Hagatha. Fortunate, as any World of Warcraft player knows, the Gilneans are a little ... furrier ... than most denizens of Azeroth, making them ideally suited to resist Hagartha and her dark magic.

Log in now to claim three free packs and a random class legendary. What you won't get -- not yet anyway -- is another component of the expansion, the PvE Monster Hunt, which is delayed until April 26. When it goes live, you'll be able to take on Hagartha and her minions with one of four heroes in content similar to the last expansion's Dungeon Runs.
