Here’s What You Need To Know About Lost Ark’s Upcoming Region Merge Before It Happens
NA West is being integrated into NA East.
As Lost Ark players know, Amazon is planning a North American region merge for the free-to-play MMORPG. This merge doesn’t merge servers and rosters, so players don’t have to worry about that. It will, however affect things like the game’s market, auction house and currency exchange. Character and guild names may be affected as well.
During the merge, all things related to commerce in the game will be canceled. So, if you have items posted or offers listed, you’ll have to redo them once the merge is done. On the topic of character and guild names, there will be resets for duplicates. Priority will be given to characters that belong to a roster with a higher max character level, or if that doesn’t apply, the first created character. Players will know if their character name has been reset as the system will prompt them.
The resetting of overlapping guild names will function similarly, with the first guild created retaining the name. If both guilds were created at the same time, the guild in the target region keeps it’s name. Guild will receive a name change ticket to change their names if necessary.
As for friend lists and other social features, those will remain unchanged. Friend lists and requests will be kept with both reflecting player name changes if necessary.
The merge will have some impact on things like powerpasses, reskin tickets, and the like. Some of these will be dealt with in the same way. If items exist in both regions the item will transfer. If it exists in the source region as an item, it transfers as an item. If it exists as a token, it transfers as a token. Fre tickets and tokens will equal the lowest amount.
Other features, like Paradise, the In-game shop, and more may also be impacted by the merge. The rules set in place for each of these can be found in the announcement on the Lost Ark Steam page.
