Patch 9.2 Notes: It’s Finally Time To Explore World Of Warcraft’s Afterlife Creating Workshop Zereth Mortis
While you’re there, learn to use the Synthesis Forges to create mounts and battle pets.
The time has come. World of Warcraft’s Eternity’s End content update patch notes are here and players can get ready to visit the ancient realm of Zereth Mortis where the First Ones spent their time creating afterlives and the automata carried on creating everything that exists in the Shadowlands. In this mysterious new place, players will meet The Enlightened, a race that has been in Zereth Mortis for a while now and spends all their time seeking knowledge. Players will also spend time with the automata and learn a lost language in order to discover more about the new zone. And there’s definitely something worth learning.
One of the big features of this update is the introduction of Synthesis Forges. These forges were created by the First Ones to create the creatures that live in the Shadowlands. Now, players can learn how to use this technology for themselves and forge over fifty mounts and battle pets for their collection. As with any crafting system, this is going to require players to obtain the necessary components first. They’ll also need to unlock the Synthesis Forges to know what components they’ll need. As you might expect, creating mounts will be a bit more involved than creating the battle pets. They also require players to unlock a different forge than the one used for battle pets. A full rundown on how this works is available on the WoW site.
Another big thing being added with this update is the new Sepulcher of the First Ones raid where players will pursue Zovaal and attempt to discover the Jailer’s plans. Of course, nothing ever happens in a straight line and before players reach Zovaal, they’ll have to face Anduin and learn how to protect themselves from the Jailer’s magic.
PvP players get a bit of love in this update as well with a new 6v6 brawl – Solo Shuffle, a new Arena – Maldraxxus Coliseum, and the kickoff of Shadowlands Season 3. Also, prepare for the return of the Darkmoon Faire in March. This year it features a new attraction, a dance competition.
On an additional note, if you’re concerned about Sylvanas’s story going forward, you may want to check out the article on Dextero. In it, WoW Narrative Lead Steve Danuser discusses how Sylvanus’s story will be important to 9.2.
Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
