Update: LOTRO's Mordor Expansion Will Launch Wednesday
It appears that one does not simply launch a Mordor expansion. After giving a less-than-firm "around July 31" time frame for the release of its newest expansion for The Lord of the Rings Online, Standing Stone Games has indeed pushed things back a bit.
According to a post on the forums, the dev team was hoping to get things up and running on today, the 31st but instead "discovered an issue in the build that impacted the ability of monsters and NPCs to move around correctly." It's probably just some lazy orcs that need a good flogging. Where there's a whip, there's a will, and all that.
SSG hopes to know more regarding the launch date of the Mordor expansion over the next 24 hours. In the meantime, just remember that an expansion is never late, nor is it early -- it arrives precisely when it means to.
UPDATE: Mordor will launch tomorrow, Wednesday the 2nd. The game servers will be down in the morning to deploy the expansion and are expected to come back online at 1 p.m. Eastern. The release notes can be found on the LotRO forums.
