MTG Arena Touts Guild Of Ravnica Draft Event And Singleton Week
Just like your local gaming store, Magic: The Gathering Arena has events, events, and more events! Starting today, the Core Set 2019 draft event rotates out, but players can take part in a Guilds of Ravnica best-of-1 draft event! You'll need 750 gems or 5,000 gold to participate, which is a bit on the pricey side -- 750 gems is equal to $4.99 -- but unlike various other games' limited modes, you get to keep the cards you draft afterwards for your collection.
If that's out of your budget, just hang on until tomorrow when Standard Singleton Week kicks off at 8 a.m. Pacific. That format will only run you 100 gems/500 gold and forces you to build a deck using no more than one of any card (except basic lands) and play until you've accumulated seven wins or three losses. It runs until Oct. 19.
There was also a small MTG Arena patch today that fixed a few cards and slightly altered the UI when you can't cast one part of a split card. You can read more about the changes on the MTG Arena site.
