Netflix Is Hopping Into The MMO Waters With The Help Of Cozy Grove Developer Spry Fox
As you might guess from the developer, this will be a cozy MMO.
Today, at GDC, Netflix announced its first foray into the MMO space with ‘Spirit Crossing’ a cozy MMO from Spry Fox. If that developer name sounds familiar, it’s because the company is known for its cozy games, having developed Cozy Grove. After being purchased by the video streaming company, Spry Fox also released a Cozy Grove sequel, Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit, exclusively through Netflix.
The game will offer most of the things players associate with cozy games such as exploration, crafting, and customizable housing. Apparently, there will even be full neighborhoods. There’s not a lot of information on the game beyond that yet. However, sign-ups are open for the Closed Alpha. Based on the questions on the form, players will need a Netflix account as well as an Android or iOS device to participate. Players also need to be 18 or older.
