New Roles Coming To Among Us, Plus Other Improvements Outlined In 2024 Roadmap
(Sorry for the delay, the developers were napping!)
Among Us is still around and going strong!
In the 2024 Roadmap announcement, the developers over at Innersloth explain their release of plans for the year was delayed due to redefining their update process, aligning with player feedback, and taking some (“well-deserved”) naps. This delay has allowed them to present a more organized and thoughtful approach to the social deduction game's future updates.
The roadmap includes new roles, building on the success of previous role additions like Engineer, Scientist, Guardian Angel, and Shapeshifter. Other improvements are enhanced lobby filtering to streamline the matchmaking experience, a revamped lobby settings interface for hosts and players, and an expansion of cosmetics and collaborations. The team promises more fashionable options for Crewmates and hints at collaborations with other studios.
Beyond these specific updates, the developers are also focusing on quality of life improvements, such as music in lobbies and enhanced visual cues for Crewmate interactions.
