Things are looking up for New World (as long as this update doesn’t get delayed like the previous one).

Season 2 - Blood of the Sands launches today, bringing plenty of new content and activities to the MMORPG. The storyline revolves around the Blood of the Sands and their leader Malek, who seek help in finding the eggs of the massive creature known as the Devourer. Players can uncover the secrets of this ancient group and their connection to Shah Neshen.

A new Season Pass will be available too, introducing a Season Journey, challenges, and rewards like cosmetics and Transmog Tokens. The update also includes the Elite Trial: Arena of Shah Neshen, where players face the massive sandwurm for elite rewards, and the Seasonal Trial: The Hatchery, a weekly activity to stop the hatching of dangerous sandwurm eggs. There’s a new Heartrune ability as well, called The Devourer — it lets players summon a sandwurm to damage enemies

Aside from all that, the PvP Reward Track has new rewards and increased predictability, and raid groups of up to 20 players can now engage in large-scale open-world activities. Outpost Rush has been modified too to be playable across worlds within the same region, with adjustments for reduced wait times and increased objectives focus. Last but not least, the First Light territory is retracted, and there’s a new 3v3 Arenas map that offers gladiator-style battles.

You can check out all the details and additions on the patch on the official site.
