In just a few weeks New World: Aeternum will debut on consoles and welcome current PC players into a revamped version of the MMORPG. Focusing more on a "co-op" nature than a full MMO plan, Amazon Games recently chatted about new end-game activities that come with the Aeternum version.

However, today it is time to talk about servers, cross play, and some of the rules. Off the top, if you have characters on PC now, those characters will not be able to move to new servers. Totally new servers will be given the "Standard" designation and current Standard and Fresh Start servers will be given the "Legacy" designation. That means you're on a Legacy server if you play on PC right now, and legacy server characters will not be able to transfer to any new standard servers.

Current PC players can create totally new characters on standard servers, if you like. Legacy servers will not initially be merged with standard servers...but that could certainly change if populations become an issue.

Players on standard servers can transfer to legacy servers, though, however they won't be able to then transfer back to standard servers in the future.

Now when it comes to who you play New World: Aeternum with, you will have a few options...if you're on console, that is. Since the MMO features cross play, you can team up across platforms. That said, there will be servers that are specific to PlayStation and servers that are specific to Xbox. These will be clearly labeled and it'll be up to you if you want to play on those particular servers. Your cross play options will be limited to the console your server is named after if you opt to roll on them.

Now we wait to see how this launch is received.
