Nu Wa And Amaterasu Arrive In SMITE 2's Alpha, But So Do Some Other Player-Requested Features
Your setting may have been rest, but that shouldn't happen going forward.
Ok, so it wasn't exactly a secret as many SMITE 2 players figured out who was being added to the MOBA's roster today last week and I reported on it. However, now it's all "official" and everything. Today's update did, in fact, add Chinese goddess Nu Wa and the Shinto sun goddess Amaterasu.
Amaterasu is all about using auras to buff teammates and smacking things with a powerful sword. Nu Wa takes a more calculated approach specializing in crowd control, damage, and an ultimate that hits all enemies on the map.
Titan Forge plans to add two new gods every 3 weeks, but that's not all that dropped today. A number of player-requested features also arrived. These include Ranked Leaderboards, a Role Preference System in Ranked Mode, a new tutorial to get players up to speed on Arena Mode, and a number of co-op improvements.
Pyromancer is also returning to Conquest.
Should you be in testing, you may notice that your settings have been reset. This is intentional as a result of a fix added today, but the fix should actually stop this from happening again in the future.
If you're curious, you can still get into the 24/7 closed alpha by picking up one of the MOBA's Founder's Packs, although the team is still tossing out access via sign ups and social media if you'd rather take a chance at a free way into the test. There's a "Register for Alpha" button on the top right of the main game site.
