Patch 2.5 for Robot Entertainment's Orcs Must Die! Unchained, appropriately titled Chaos Theory, makes so many changes to the game that even a five-minute video from the community manager doesn't begin to scratch the surface of it all. But scratch we shall do.

  • First of all, there's a progress wipe. Once you've gotten over that, you can hop in and try the new hero, Zoey, The Chaotic Apprentice, whose unpredictable magic requires a high skill level to master.
  • Warcamps are being renamed to minion portals.
  • Cliffside Clash is the default PvE map, though the other maps can still be chosen in custom games. Other changes, including random heroes during Hero Roulette and random loot drops.
  • Hero progress is now measured in levels and experience, and not wins, with coin bonuses and heroic dyes coming at various levels.
  • There's a new radial communication menu, letting you quickly shout out instructions to your teammates. No, there's isn't a "Stop feeding, noob" instruction.
  • There are a lot of UI changes and other quality-of-life improvements in the patch, so if you want to do more scratching you can read the full patch notes here.
