Path Of Exile's "Ruthless" FAQ Confirms Console Release, Past League Content, And Answers Community Questions
A new, challenging way to journey through Wraeclast is drumming up excitement.
When Grinding Gear Games announced the "Ruthless" mode for Path of Exile, players were quite ecstatic about the character creation flag that would include "extreme item scarcity" and present challenges that warrant immediate bragging rights. The devs have stressed the mode isn't for everyone, but for those interested, their recent FAQ clears up the community's most frequent questions after the reveal.
The most notable answers confirm a console launch alongside the 3.20 expansion, past league content available but appearing "in different forms," and plans to make Ruthless have the option to create private leagues.
Much like the primary mechanics of Path of Exile, players can party up with others in Ruthless Solo Self-Found, and stash tabs will function normally. Unfortunately, players will not see new challenges and achievements. The intention of Ruthless as a test of player hardship and adversity overshadows these systems, but in the case of challenges, Grinding Gear will consider a solution from 3.21 onwards.
Alongside that, the devs will keep an eye on movement skills from gems and items after the Ruthless release. Since skill gems are harder to obtain, players were worried that missing movement skills would make gameplay situations "very difficult." If a mechanic is impossible to surpass without movement skills, Grinding Gear will make appropriate changes to Ruthless and the core game. As for items, they will still be obtainable, but have longer cooldowns and the devs may modify them after launch.
