HSR Version 4-2

We had our bit of fun on Planarcadia in the last two Honkai: Star Rail updates, but it looks like the Trailblazer and Astral Express crew are going to have to lock in because things are spiraling out of control. Luckily, we have quite a bit of potential help, and soon we’ll have the power of glow sticks. It’s not that weird. Our last weapon was a quill, and the one before that was a hat. Besides, the glowsticks can become light sabers, nunchucks, or drumsticks. (That last one’s for the benefit of the other Elation characters on your team.)

Speaking of Elation, two new Elation characters will be premiering in this update. One is completely new, Evanescia. The other is Silver Wolf LV.999, Silver Wolf’s SP character. They will be available in the free-to-play action RPG as separate banner runs, each accompanied by other limited 5-star characters. The first run will include The Dahlia, Castorice, and Firefly. The second will feature Tribbie, Sunday, and Feixiao. Just in case you need to plan out your Stellar Jade spending.

In other character news, Firefly, Huohuo, Seele, and Welt are all being buffed with Novaflare. Huohuo has also been added to the Stellar Convergence Store along with Robin.

The Party Car and the Trailblazer’s rooms are getting their own buffs. Specifically, friends can visit your party car, which now features a cat tree for the Cake Cats. Apparently, you can capture Cake Cats on your friend’s trains and run into them on your own. There’s even a chance to run into an Aeon-like Cake Cat named “Akivimeow”.

Also, the Relic chest event is back. That means you can really buff up one of your characters without having to do the heavy grinding required to get the relics. Choose wisely. On the topic of relics, the devs have introduced a preset saving feature that will allow players to create multiple sets for a character and easily swap them out. That will make building teams less complicated. And, if you’re not sure what to do, you can now ask Pom-Pom for help.

As this is also the third anniversary update, there are other events, goodies, and changes to look forward to. For starters, there’s the “Cosmic Data Roaming” event in which the Trailblazer decides to become a streamer. Not surprisingly, their content consists mostly of combat, but we’ll see some old friends along the way. Completing the event will earn players the 4-Star event Light Cone, “Tomorrow, Together”.

On the gift front, players can expect 20 Star Rail Special Passes from daily check-ins. That’s double the normal amount. Once again, they can also select a greeting card from a companion, which will come with 1,600 Stellar Jades and 10 fuels. And, there will be special anniversary editions of Planar Fissure, Realm of the Strange, and Garden of Plenty with rewards boosted to 300%. Players should also look for the annual Trailblaze Report, which will include more Stellar Jades and other items.

In addition to all of that, players will receive a free Golden Companion Spirit that will allow them to obtain a free limited 5-star character from the Stellar Convergence Store.

Version 4.2 kicks off on April 22. As always, there are some redemption codes. Remember to use them as soon as possible. They are: HERESTHECODE, SHAREANDSAVEIT, and HAPPY3RDANNIV.

Oh, yes. There were a few other notes. First, the online concert returns on May 3. Second, there will be an online event featuring in-game and real-world prizes, including the chance to win a Silver Wolf LV.999-themed car. And finally, at the very end of the stream, a collaboration project with animation company MAPPA was teased. It appears to focus on the Stellaron Hunters. You can view it below.
