Rocket League Season 5

Rocket League fans on PC and console, as well as mobile devices, are on the receiving end of new content this week. It’s already been rolling out, starting with mobile players getting access to the new standalone game Rocket League Sideswipe’s pre-season in some regions. The pre-season is rolling out bit-by-bit beginning with Oceania and will continue to roll out through the rest of the month. Those who take part in pre-season will have access to limited customization items and a chance to learn the game before Season One kicks off. If you’re wanting to check out the game, but it’s not available in your region yet, you can find a gameplay video below.

In OG Rocket League news, update 2.08 is available on both PC and consoles as of today, bringing with it Season 5 which I have to admit, even for someone who doesn’t play Rocket League, looks pretty epic...might be the whole space theme, though. I’m a sucker for that. Season 5 adds a new arena to Private Matches and Free Play: ‘Starbase Arc: Aftermath’. Of course, it also features a Rocket Pass filled with lots of space-themed cosmetics.

Players may also be happy (or disappointed, depending on your perspective) to know that Psyonix has also made some changes to player reporting. First, they’ve updated the list to include more reasons to choose from when reporting someone. The system also now allows reporters to select more than one reason for reporting someone else – for those players who just decide to go the extra mile when being a jerk. There are also now more ways to report and, so you can be sure your report was sent, an alert will now pop up in the game when you’ve completed the process.
