Save The Universe And Survival Mode Returning To DC Universe Online, But Episode 44 Has Been Delayed
The new Survival Mode is intended to be the game’s first ever 6-person content.
Today, Daybreak Games published a post on the DC Universe Online site discussing plans for the game over the next several months. In fact, it goes a bit past Q4 and into “The Future” – which will see the anniversary event, Episode 45, and a launch on PlayStation 5, but that’s a bit off for now.
In the meantime, players can expect several things to happen over the course of Q3 and Q4. First off, during the months of June through August, players can look forward to the return of the Tides of War seasonal event as well as Save the Universe and Survival Mode. Interestingly, the Survival mode isn’t going to be exactly what players are used to. The developers plan to turn it into the game’s first 6-person content. Note I used “plans” there. They’re even still workshopping the name, so we’ll see if they come through. Episode 44 has already been delayed due to staffing shortages (they are hiring!) so you probably don't want to hold the team to too specific of a deadline at this point.
For those wondering about rewards, daily rewards will continue and players will finally be able to get the Blue Beetle gear suit in June. Players have been asking for this, so...excellent news.
Continuing with things players have asked for, two new allies, Superman and Krypto are being added as is a ‘remixed’ Booster Bundle. And yes...it is June, so that means Pride content, for those who want to add a little rainbow action to the mix.
