R2 Games closed the Alpha testing for their free to play, browser based, MMORPG, Stormthrone a few days ago on April 9th. A few days later and the game is ready to jump into open beta starting on April 14th at 10 AM Eastern time. Players who log in after open beta starts will have no character wipes so make as much progress as you want, it’s all yours to keep.
The Stormthrone open beta will feature 2 servers, S1 Derajj’s Sanctum and S2 Rift Valley, that share cross server features for ease of gameplay. What hasn’t been announced yet, and it a bit of a concern for many on the game’s official forums, is if there are any plans to release servers that aren’t based on the U.S. time zones.
While being browser based, Stormthrone does have the option for players to download a mini-client if browser playing just isn’t your thing. Stormthrone also features 6 classes to chose from as you adventure through the isometric viewed world.
