Dota Plus Spring 2024

Today, Valve pushed the Dota Plus Spring update introducing new seasonal treasure, quests, and guild rewards. The seasonal treasure can now be purchased with shards and includes new sets for Disruptor, Dark Willow, Spectre, Chaos Knight, Doom, Earth Spirit, Underlord, and Nyx Assassin. Players can also unlock the Sir Molestach Irondrill courier. The update also adds items from Summer Treasure 2022 to the shard shop.

These shards can be obtained via the Dota Plus quests, which will provide players with up to 115,200 shards. Updated rewards include new emoticons, sprays, and chat wheels.

In addition to the MOBA's seasonal content, the update also introduces Dota Labs. This is a new addition that will give players access to experimental features. Players can access it via the options menu where they will see a new Dota Labs tab. There are currently three features included in Dota Labs: an overlay map, modifier key filter bindings, and a high-visibility local hero health bar. The last item should help with the readability of players’ nameplates.

On an additional note, if you like behind-the-scenes tech info and a bit of an internet history lesson, you might want to check out the latest "Between the Lanes." This time Valve details how they have built their own system to deal with DDoS attacks, a common problem for video game companies, but incredibly annoying for those trying to run tournaments.
