The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Game Devs Promise Fans A Better Outcome Than Friday The 13th
Gun Interactive previously shut down its other horror game due to licensing issues.
In case you missed it, Gun Interactive, the team behind the Friday the 13th game, is working on a new horror game based on The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
According to PCGamesN, the team assures fans that this project won't face the same fate as their Friday the 13th game, which had to shut down servers due to licensing issues in 2020. The creative director, Ronnie Hobbs, explained that they have been working closely with Kim Henkel, the sole owner of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre IP, both creatively and legally, to ensure a smoother process.
Unlike Friday the 13th, the situation with The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is less complicated due to the direct involvement of the IP's owner. The game is set as a prequel to the 1974 film, taking place just before the events of the movie. This setup allows for new characters and original content to be introduced, while familiar locations from the film will be featured in the game's maps. The gameplay will have similarities to Friday the 13th, with escape options and item searching, and a unique multiplayer angle that involves a family of killers working together.
