Torchlight Infinite’s SS7 Uses Tarot Cards To Reshape The Netherrealm
Tarot cards are used to introduce challenges in Arcana.
Torchlight is launching SS7 on January 10, introducing all-new mechanics to the action RPG. Titled “Arcana,” the new season introduces a tarot card-based mechanic designed to facilitate dynamic challenges. Tarot cards are scattered through the Netherrealm, each featuring its own effects. For instance, The Hermit card means players will need to watch out for hidden assassins, while The Sun creates radiant energy that burns the battlefield. Completing the dynamic challenges created by the cards will unlock a board-game-inspired mechanic titled Tarot Secret Path.
Another feature introduced in the upcoming update is a new growth system for Pactspirits named “Destiny”. The system allows players to install Fates and Kismets on talent nodes. Fates will add boosts while Kismets are rare mechanics that will open new builds.
Finally, the update includes a new hero named Iris. Known as “The Vigilant Breeze”, Iris merges with Spirit Magi to use elemental abilities. She can push the Magi’s abilities or aid them in surviving using her own life restoration capabilities.
