Turbine's got a lot planned for The Lord of the Rings Online's Update 16. In preparation, the company dropped a video today, featuring bits from various developers on what players can expect when the update goes live.

Taking place chronologically after the Battle of Pelagir, three new regions will be added to the game: Upper Lebennin, Lossarnach, and South Ithilien -- the last of those being where Faramir leads a company of Rangers, though his "whereabouts may be unknown at this time."

The instance cluster will revolve around the city of Osgiliath, offering Tier 1, Tier 2, and Challenge Mode difficulties, in a pair of three-player and a six-player instances. Finally, legendary items will get a long-awaited reworking, with the creation of the imbuement system, which lets players keep their legendaries for longer periods of time -- and maybe introduces a new grind and time-based, uncapped progression system, but that might be just the long-time LOTRO player/cynic in me just talking...
