Warhammer 40K Darktide

Indie developer Fatshark had an unexpected surprise today at the Summer Game Fest for Warhammer 40K fans, revealing their upcoming 4-player co-op title: Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. Two pre-order versions are now available for purchase, with the official release date of September 13 for PC and Xbox Series X|S.

The brand-new premier gameplay trailer (below) runs for almost two minutes and highlights an intense mission playthrough. Heretics have sabotaged Tertium's power system in the video and it's up to four teammates to save the day. From their perspectives, viewers got a good impression of the gory action and immersive graphic fidelity they can expect come September. Speaking of graphics, though, Fatshark partnered with NVIDIA to announce that Darktide will launch with NVIDIA DLSS, ray tracing, and reflex.

Pre-orders are up and running with two purchasable versions: the standard Darktide for $39.99 and an Imperial Edition for $59.99. The base option has an "Atoman Star Weapon Trinket" and "Vanguard of the Imperium Portrait Frame" that comes with the game. Imperial Edition has 2500 of the Aquilas premium currency, "Caducades Backpack," "Mortis Veteran Portrait Frame," and a "Loyalist Pack" with a collection of cosmetics.

Hope they learned some lessons after Vermintide and we won't need months of patches after launch.
